In 1996, after finishing his training at the University of Texas at Galveston, Dr. Stewart moved to Cookeville, Tennessee to begin his ophthalmology practice. In 1997, Dr. Stewart performed the first LASIK procedure in the Upper Cumberland area, and in 2001, Tennessee Lasik Associates was born. TLA opened its first LASIK office in Knoxville, and after thousands of successful laser procedures, opened an office in Murfreesboro in 2006.Tennessee LASIK Associates success has been driven by happy patients with excellent refractive results. The company continues to grow with over 15,000 LASIK eye procedures performed.
