Berenice Mabrey-Ojo says she was pleasantly surprised to find that Nashville is such a wonderfully diverse city. President and CEO of The Diversity Race™ and CEO of Precise Management Company, a celebrity marketing and PR firm, Berenice says, “Embracing and spreading awareness about diversity, and inclusion has always been my passion.”
The Diversity Race™ is a global awareness campaign to emphasize the importance of embracing diversity through education and to ease racial tensions worldwide. When Berenice began to ponder outreach strategies she thought of a marathon. “I’m not a runner,” she says “but a marathon is a perfect event to raise awareness. It is an event of diverse people from all over the globe moving together toward a common goal with diligence and passion.”
Berenice also developed the Global Tea Room Tour, one of many diversity-rich events that will lead up to the marathon on October 11, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. “The purpose of the Global Tea Room Tour is to give community leaders and professionals an intimate setting in which to discuss ideas and action plans for improving race relations, diversity, and easing cultural tensions.”
Berenice, and VP Dick Gregory, famous civil rights activist, comedian, and marathon runner, are finding enthusiastic support among friends and businesses. “It’s all out of love and the understanding that we are all human – all have a need to be accepted and loved.
